​NNYPIPA has maintained a 20-year collaborative relationship with Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.  The Rewarding Physician Excellence Program (RPE) is an NNYPIPA-Excellus sponsored program that seeks to achieve the triple aim: improving health care quality, lower cost and improve the patient experience.  RPE is an upside only program designed to support quality, efficiency and operational improvements for independent physician practices.  RPE gives independent physicians a pathway to improve the care they provide; receive enhanced reimbursements; and when certain quality and efficiency metrics are achieved, receive additional financial bonuses.
